It's wonderful for getting you started immediately, but for ten bucks kindle price it seems too short. I was expecting more of a short course for the price, but it really only points the way.
I sat down to read this with my guitar next to me. This guide was very informative and helpful. The chord charts are a great reference to use in the future. Learning the tab was new to me, and I feel like I can now go to some of the site that have songs written that way and learn them easily. This how-to guide covers a lot of information from the history and parts of the electric guitar, to tips about maintenance and cleaning as well as advice about playing in such a way to avoid fatigue and enjoy your playing more. I would recommend this to any beginner on guitar. You can not only learn to tune your guitar, but how to choose and set up your amplifier and effects. You can also learn two songs right away by following this guide.
Back in 1993, I received an acoustic guitar as a gift. I went on to study music in college, and I performed at Carnegie Hall earlier this year. The problem is that almost 20 years later, I still can't play an instrument, including the guitar! I have no coordination, therefore, I sing.
Thankfully, my daughter is very coordinated and musically inclined. She plays viola and piano. Now she'd like to take up electric guitar. Right now, I just don't have the money for private lessons or overpriced books.
This e-book is truly for beginners! When I got this book, I read it first to make sure it was at her level. I felt like a friend was walking me through the entire time I read. The full color illustrations are a blessing!
This e-book explains how an electric guitar works, illustrates the parts, helps you select a beginner's electric guitar, and is budget conscious throughout. As a mom, I was especially grateful for the sections on cleaning and maintenance. As a musician, I am tickled that the book included pictures on how to play each chord. Maybe I'll even improve my guitar skills beyond the easy setting of Guitar Hero now.
This book is very confusing but it is still very helpful. You shoukd have more demonstrations. Thank you very much.
My daughter is eleven years old she is able to follow along and she is learning easily.She also is enjoying the fact that she can do it at her own pace.
